Lynn M. Barnes, Ph.D., is an associate professor of criminal justice at Elizabeth City State University
Lynn M. Barnes, Ph.D., is an associate professor of criminal justice at Elizabeth City State University
in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She earned a bachelor's degree in Administration of Justice and
Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master's degree in Criminal Justice
from California State University, Los Angeles, and a doctoral degree in Criminal Justice from
Rutgers University. Her major areas of teaching and research are police theory and the prevention
and control of violence against women.
Dr. Barnes is a native of North Carolina. She is an avid reader and enjoys theater in New York City.
